I’ve been seeing a lot of keto on my feeds and been hearing about it from people. Keto or Ketogenic diet is a low- (way tooo low in my opinion) carbs, high-fat diet that encourages the body to burn fat as fuel. The state when your body is running on fat because of the absence of carbs is called ketosis.
Ketosis is a natural process the body initiates to help us survive when food intake is low. During this state, we produce ketones, which are produced from the breakdown of fats in the liver.
Proper Keto diet will force your body in this metabolic state through starvation of carbohydrates.
I’ve heard that weight loss is fast with this diet.
Originally, I’ve read through lots of googling that ketogenic Diet was developed for people with epilepsy.
I don’t normally do diets, You name it, I’ve heard all of it, read all about it and I know that any diet will not work if you do not have the willpower, discipline and determination to achieve your goal…and I have none of those qualities when it comes to eating.
And that is why I know it will not work for me. Plus, I love carbs…breads, sweets, pastries.
But guess what? I’m willing to try this one. Why you may ask? Because I’m tired. Tired of my extra 10 lbs that won’t budge, I exercise regularly, sometimes an hour but it’s not the same as when I was younger.
I find it harder to lose weight now than years ago. So I want to give Keto a chance and see what the hype is all about. And what have I got to lose if I try?
Oh , yes..I the lbs! Hahaha! I hope it will work for me.
I will try it for 2-5 days. Strictly. Wow. If I go crazy without my usual dose of happiness (aka sugars/sweets 😀 )..we know what to blame. LOL
